A magical get-a-way!

"A magical get-a-way! We stayed the last 2 weeks of July and totally unwound from city life, the beautifully kitted out beach house with its eclectic furniture was spotless and it felt like we had our own private beach. Great for long walks and seal watching which was only a 5min walk away. We will be going back again!"

Fabulous Beach house

"My wife and I absolutely love this house, as it is south facing it was warm and bright all day. It had everything we needed for a safe, relaxed holiday. We loved sitting in the kitchen or lounge room and always being able to see the view of the mountains and beach. When not on the beach our young children played on the large patio or rode their bikes. We will definitely be back next year."

Wonderful cottage with stunning views

"I think we were one of the first to rent this property after the owners had modernised it. It is a really beautiful property in an idyllic location. Although it's a holiday property, it is fitted out to really high standard. The kitchen is great and the bathrooms immaculate. We couldn't fault the place. Mellon Udrigle Beach itself is stunning and you can happily watch it from the breakfast bar, the front room or from the patio. Apart from walking on the beach, we did a few walks around the bay and sat and watched the local seal population. If you are looking for things to do, we found some really nice gardens at Inverewe, did a Waterfall walk above Poolewe, and a walk around Corrieshalloc gorge. I'd also recommend the drive along Loch Maree - amazing scenery."

A super relaxing holiday, superb holiday home...will return!

Warm, clean, well equipped house with fantastic views of the bay.Comfortable furniture and beds. Good light in all rooms. Wonderful outdoor space. Beach in 30 seconds! Very peaceful.

A perfect holiday cottage in a perfect location! The kids were so excited to have a beach right on the doorstep and were more excited when the saw the huge rock out the back that they could practice climbing on. The cottage was well equipped with everything a family could need for a break away.

Breath taking views. Thank you for providing hand gel and all the necessary cleaning products which made the stay feel very safe with covid-19 in mind.

The beach house is very well equipped & located with a superb view of one of the best beaches in the UK. Service of staff, whilst it doesn't really apply to self catering as such but I have added top marks because Katerina was so helpful in organising & preparing for our stay she really thought of everything (if you want anything there will be a label in a cupboard & you'll find it there). BRILLIANT!

For us we like the sea & brought our Rib with us, we were able to launch at Aultbae and motor around to Mellon Udrigle Bay where we dropped a sea anchor & left the boat in a sheltered bay during our stay (there is access to the beach to launch maybe 5m ribs & also a ramp at Laide but for bigger boats Aultbae has 2 ramps & one is very wide).

We took days out to the local islands fishing, we had runs to the Summer Isles, had a day in Loch Inver & as we set out from the harbour between the island & headland we came across a pod of dolphins which was a treat to see, they chased the bow wave & jumped over the wash, we didn't know which way to look there were so many of them. 

We spent our last full day in Ullapool, it's a pretty place to visit, comimg back was a bit of a white knuckle ride through windy & big waves. We had the odd day around the bay in our little paddle boat looking at the clear water. We took a few decent walks to local waterfalls & beaches the views were fantastic.

Food wise we brought plenty with us & bought top up from Laide. Our stay was during Covid open up so we kept to ourselves. On our last night we bought a Chinese takeaway in Gairloch which made a nice change.

Stunning location, great place to do lots outdoors or do nothing, whatever you want! I was happy just looking at the views, house is so comfortable with everything you need. Hope to return soon, it's a very hard place to leave.
